Street and road design
Road and higway design is an important field within the company. In addition to road design, the employees carry out related works, such as investigations and research, reports, planning and tendering. The road design is carried out using software from ViaNova AS in Norway. The sofware is called NovaPoint and is superimposed upon AutoCad. It uses nordic standards in road design and in addition to being a powerful tool for road design it offers other possibilities such as drawing road-crossings, roundabouts, signs and markings. Hnit also has a powerful software called SoundPlan for calculating road noise. That software has been used for calculating road noise for different design propositions.
